Man killed, 3 injured in Waukegan crash
A 22-year-old man was killed and three others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Waukegan Wednesday that may have been caused by a medical emergency, police said.
Police say Emmanuel Reyes, 22, of Zion, was driving northbound on Martin Luther King Avenue near Grand Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. when he lost control and struck a tree, Waukegan police said in a news release.
The crash seriously injured a 46-year-old woman, an 18-year old woman and a 13-year-old girl - all from the same family. Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Investigators believe that some type of medical emergency caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
